Posted: 9/1/03 at 10:23amAdults always have to have alcohol involved. Atleast kids can have fun without being loaded. If I lived in NYC, I would plan a get together for us "kiddies" and have an immature, fun time and talk about Hairspray, Gypsy, and TMM!! What do you say fellow immature "kiddies?"

Well...how bout both...the kids can have some sort of thing which everyone can go to and then afterwards ..
we can have an "After party" for the adults involving truckloads of booze!

This gathering sounds like that movie MURDER BY DEATH! Who'd be the Truman Capote character?

Really? I am an adult and I don't drink anything stonger than ginger ale. I don't smoke or do drugs (except for the meds the doctor has me on) either.

The prospect of getting smashed is a lot more appealing than discussing Hairspray, Gypsy, or even Millie.
Who wants Opera? You'll have to hike up to my neck of the woods. Lincoln Center is on Broadway and W66th. Take the 1 or the 9 uptown from Times Square and get off at W66th.

Posted: 9/1/03 at 5:19pmLet's see the Met's BOHEME!!! I could get interested in that. However, I feel MILLIE, HAIRSPRAY and the others are just about talked out.

Posted: 9/1/03 at 5:55pmIt sucks being my age. I'm in for the booze with the older people, but my ID says I was born a few years too late for that...

To Broadway Girl 107
I would take being your age any day of the week. It is a sobering thought to know that 2/3 of your life is over. When you get to be my age, you will wish you were your age now. Enjoy your youth. So you can't have alcohol big deal. You have your youth & that is irreplaceable

Posted: 9/1/03 at 6:16pmMr. Roxy - I know, trust me I'm enjoying my youth (Thoush you said some very wise wotds for those who truly aren't enjoying their youth!). I was referring more to the fact that people will judge you by your age when you're young and immediately look down on you because you're younger. They assume you can't be mature at a young age, that's really my only problem at this age. To be honest, I really don't care about not being able to drink, I was just kidding around. Not that we all haven't had some booze once or twice...

Posted: 9/1/03 at 6:48pmI know some people who are my age & act like children & some children or young people who act like they have lived a lifetime.Have a good life & enjoy yourself

DofB5, you are my favorite adult on this board. I wasn't, in anyway, directing that comment towards you!

Fall of 2003 would be my vote. If we enjoy each other's company therein lies the excuse to meet again in the first 6 months of 2004. Maybe our own Tony Party.

If I was in NYC, I would go to a Tony Party. That is a great idea, BB! I have always wanted to have one, but don't have the friends that like Broadway.

I wasn't offended and I'm flattered to be your favorite. I hope everyone knows I was just teasing about the bling blings. I'm still getting used to them. It makes me chuckle (yes, really chuckle if inquiring minds want to know) everytime I say the name. I keep coming up with my own one liners about them.![]()
