How About Laura Osnes & Sierra Boggess For SIDE SHOW?

Do you think the score of CINDERELLA would have been much different if Dick and Oscar had originally written it for the BWay Stage?

I've yet to see a production of it (or STATE FAIR) that best the original TV or film versions. Ann Margaret excepted, of course.

Is the score too "small" for the stage?

^ Comparing Cinderella's score to Oklahoma and Carousel, it misses the big, sweeping numbers. It is filled with great, little songs that translate well on screen (In My Own Little Corner, Impossible, Stepsisters' Lament). Still, there is really only one big choral song, and it's not even that big of a song, compared with Oklahoma's title song and June Is Bustin Out.

It is not a requirement that a musical has a big, memorable choral number, but for a classic R&H show, it pretty much is, except for maybe The King and I.
