I am praying that this makes it through to the last date they have on sale currently. I bought tickets to the last performance they're selling tickets for since I will already be in town. This show means so much to me and if it is going to close I would love to be there at closing.
I hope it hangs out until January but time will tell. Whenever it closes up shop I'd love for HERE LIES LOVE to make the space work for them. It would make for an interesting Tony season

It might wait for the wave of shows to close this summer and see how box office sales are then . . . it does seem like the Public would like to use it as their uptown space . . .
Amelie at Circle was the first thing I thought as well!
The producers of COMET passed on Circle in the Square a couple of years ago

I saw Amelie at Berkley Playhouse and would be surprised that they would choose to do it in the round. The staging in Berkley was so specific. Part of the reason I loved it was because visually it was beautiful and whimsical.

I think that's why some posters, including me, are suggesting ./ thinking / hoping that Amelie would take Circle in the Square. the set designers could really use the in the round set up to create some brilliant stage scenery.
not to mention that the Fun Home team built all the trap doors, so they could utilize those as well.
One of my favorite theaters is Circle in the Square. Even standing room is a great 'seat' where for the same view in terms of distance it could arguably be a premium seat in other theaters. I just looked it up and seating capacity for Circle in the Square is only 776, compared to 1000+ at other Broadway theaters.
I didn't know The Great Comet passed up on Circle on the Square. I somehow wish they could expand that Kazino theater tent they had two years ago into a seating of over 400 just so it can be considered a broadway size theater.
Well, that's not the only requirement.
In furtherence of this discussion, Fun Home is now on TDF for 9 dates.
"In Transit" is going in there next.
