#1How The Heck Do You Get A Cheap Ticket To "South Pacific"?
Posted: 9/13/08 at 6:30pmI really would like to see this show, but I know it doesn't show up on TDF and they don't really do a "student rush," so how do I get a relatively inexpensive ticket? I really want to see this show. It's a classic, and I've heard great things about it.

Get a ticket to "Wicked," find a teenage girl whose parents dragged her to see "South Pacific," and offer to trade.
Works wonders.

Posted: 9/13/08 at 7:00pmYou might be able to sign up for a membership to Lincoln Center Theatre and get a subscriber ticket. I know that the original subscriber period has now ended, but they might sell tickets to a new member to the organization. Membership was open a few months ago and may still be, so I would check into that.

You wear rainbow suspender, a Barrack Obama T-shirt, wear a beer dispenser hat, A thong with a picture of a bong on it (a bong thong), Hormer Simpson slippers, and fishnets, and you carry a Diet Coke umbrella while eating bacon for 6 hours and ask the box office for a ticket in exchange for sexual pleasures.

I'm confused and frightened. I guess that's a good thing!
By the way, you seem to have a bit of a fixation with the colour beige and the name 'Uncle Remus.' Granted, these are wonderful things to have a fixation with, but I suggest you start looking into some new material just to keep things fresh.

Posted: 9/13/08 at 8:28pmA couple friends with Lincoln Center memberships tried to get me a ticket in June. No luck. Nothing is available. You'll need to wait -- and wait -- and wait.

Posted: 9/14/08 at 4:23amLincoln Center Theatre does have a student tickets program like City Center. They have advertised all of there shows having the student tickets however for the last 2 years or more, they have had that program "temporarily closed." They have you submit your email address to inform you of when student tickets will be available. Ironically, several shows have come and gone with this advertisement but when I've called or looked things up online...nothing.

I have a few suggestions but I don't think most of them would be appropriate for the under 18 crowd.
I think you need to (as Carlin would say it) pleasure them until they start to sing O Come All Ye Faithful (yes that's supposed to have a double meaning, its a Carlin quote)

Posted: 9/14/08 at 11:21amThe Lincoln Center studentix program has opened up occasionally over the past few years. The enrollment period only opens up for a few days though because it fills up quickly. I remember the last time I got the e-mail for open enrollment I had just graduated college, so I wasn't able to sign up.

Posted: 9/14/08 at 1:57pmI LOVE the Studentix program. If you can ever manage to get in, it's awesome. I saw "South Pacific" toward the end of previews from the third row for $22.

You wait for several years until they start discounting seats. Or you pony up the $75 for the back of the loge. Not a bad spot to be, but with other people doing the same thing, I would imagine they're probably even harder to come by than the $125 tickets.
I think this is one of those things where you really should go all out for the full ticket if it's at all possible. Otherwise, go see five or six shows for the same price on student rush to console yourself. That's not a bad deal at all.

I really would suggest just saving up and paying the full price. You won't be able to see as many other shows, but 'South Pacific' is completely worth it.
So save up, wait, and buy a ticket.
Otherwise just go see a few other shows.

doesn't that include YOU?

Seriously, Winston? You know you're not doing something right when you have to say that there's a "double meaning"
