While I don't think anything could be as painfully awful as that VAGISIL PRESENTS: THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY tv spot, can we take a second to talk about the truly lovely design work for BEAUTIFUL? I mean, what says "Beautiful" more than a piss yellow background, and an awkwardly photoshopped vintage image of Carol King perched on a cartoonish keyboard? Ooh and what about that nifty 3-d fx for the the show's wordmark? I don't know which of the producers' grandkids made the poster art in MS Word, but s/he did a great job.
Eh. Doesn't bother me at all.
I actually really like these graphics. Whether or not they work for the show is a different question, but I like the style.

Ugh. Totally agree. I just thought they had leftover paint from Big Fish.

Just like the show, bland and disconnected!
I've never liked the typeface or palette used for Beautiful, but... Urinetown?! Really?
I think it looks better on the Playbill.

If your piss is that color you need to be drinking more water.

This graphic was recently sent out from Playbill Club, and I love it. I keep hoping they’ll make it the key art for the show.
That new graphic is a million times better.

Here's what Color Wheel Pro has to say:
Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
Yellow produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity, and generates muscle energy. Yellow is often associated with food. Bright, pure yellow is an attention getter, which is the reason taxicabs are painted this color. When overused, yellow may have a disturbing effect; it is known that babies cry more in yellow rooms. Yellow is seen before other colors when placed against black; this combination is often used to issue a warning. In heraldry, yellow indicates honor and loyalty. Later the meaning of yellow was connected with cowardice.
Use yellow to evoke pleasant, cheerful feelings.
Love this new art which is the new Times Sq billboard just put up.

I think BobNC is referring to this new billboard. I love this change!

Why does no show use the billboard above the Sondheim? It seems like great ad space. Is it that expensive?
