I am planning to see a regional production of Chorus Line in February. Tickets are selling fast and I really want to jump on the chance. I was wondering how dance heavy the show is because during dance shows I prefer to sit in the Mezzanine so I can see the whole dance numbers. Like in Cats, I would always choose to sit in the Mezzanine so I find it easier to see the whole stage than in the orchestra. I hope my description makes sense.
There is only 30 minutes of dance during the show (Opening, Goodbye 12 Hello 13, Music and the Mirror, and the Finale) . The whole time they are talking about themselves. The opening and finale are really awesome, but I think you'd be just as good being in the orchestra.
Sit in the mezzanine then.
This has to be one of the stupidest questions I have ever heard.
If it is of any significance to you, Michael Bennett insisted that his house seats be in the mezz because that is from where he wanted his friends and colleagues to see the show.

Sorry that you didn't understand my question. I was wondering because the seats in the mezzanine are more expensive than the ones in the orchestra. If it's better it sit in the mezz, I would spend the money, but if it's the same experience, I'll pick the cheaper ticket.
And if you don't have a response, leave your comments to yourself. No one cares if you find in stupid. I'm looking for an answer.
As someone who has danced the show twice, the intensity and amount of dance in the opener and finale alone qualify it as dance heavy.

Isn't A Chorus Line about dancers trying to get a part in a show?????? or am I confusing it for something else?

I think thats more an an opinion. I wouldnt really call it a dance heavy show.
I think it's a commonly held opinion.
And apostrophes are your friend.

and DANCE would be a featured element of the show because of this
I don't think its a commonly held opinion. At least for a lot of people who know the show. Most people would probably assume that it is a dance heavy show based off of the story line
YOU said you'd rather sit in the mezz if it was a dance heavy show. You were told to sit in the mezzanine. Because it's a dance heavy show.

Are there cats in Cats?
I've seen A Chorus Line many, many times and would say, yes it's very dance heavy. Sit in the Mezz. I remember reading something that when Michael Bennett would have his friends see the show, he would always have them sit in the Mezz so you could really appreciate the choreography.

Tams Witmark markets it as a dance heavy show. It is.
I'd personally choose to sit in the mezzanine for this show.
This thread is delicious.
I love everything about it!
If they are charging more to sit in the mezz. Then I would take it as the place to sit.
Enjoy!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo0iIoWePYI P.S. Does anyone know the name of the presenter?
The question that should have been asked is "Are there heavy people dancing in the show and what section would be the best place to watch them?"

I wish there was some way of knowing the seats Michael Bennett preferred.
Namo, there is. I remember reading in some book or article that he had favorite seats and (as I said above) insisted on them (and others nearby) as the house seats he had access to. Right now, I can't remember the place I read this but I have a recollection that it mentioned "his seat." It also said he spent much of tech up there, much to the consternation of others. (I don't think they had headsets back then. Maybe he used smoke signals.)

Namo,
I think Hogan was a little too short for that question.
