A well-known actor in a current Broadway show is an old friend of mine, and I’d love to see him backstage after the performance (I’m going Sunday night). I’m sure he’d want to see me too, but I don’t have current contact info for him. I thought maybe I’d send him a note before the show, but who would I give it to so I’m sure he gets it? Thanks.

Go to the stage door and give it to the doorman. He'll be sure to get it to your friend.
How about going to the stage door and ask whoever answers it to give this note to the person in question after explaining the situation? I see no reason why they would not accommodate this simple request.
Like Wilmingtom, I'd just say give it to the doorman. If it's possible to go drop of the note on Saturday , I'd suggest you do so. That way, your friend knows you are coming to the show, and he can put you on a list that most doormen have for backstage access.
Or just wait at the stage door and say hi at the end of the line, if all else fails.

Try asking the house manager to pass it on.
I'd suggest going through the house manager rather than stage door.
As someone who worked a stage door at a theatre in Washington DC for many years, the House Manager will come back and give it to the Stage Doorman. Walk it back to the stage door and give it to the doorman, a day in advance is always better so your friend has time - and include a contact number or e-mail so they can let you know they got it. There are mail boxes for the actors backstage and your friend will get the message. Go back to the stage door after the show and give the doorman your name. Most likely, your friend will have put you on that nights guest list or the doorman will call up to let him know he has a visitor.
Isn't your friend on social media or somesuch? Seems like you could sort this out in advance, no?
Leave a note with a pair of used underwear. Works every time. Good luck!

It worked! Thanks for the advice, everyone.
With or without the underwear? ??

No underwear necessary. Just left the note with the stage doorman before the show, went to the stage door after the show, and he let me in.
