I was wondering if Tarzan has made many changes..since they open next week..?
Yes, they have made changes. It looks great!
He's still kinda hairy..
You expect a man, raised in the jungle, to be hairless?
Yep. Some here expect Tarzan to have his chest waxed/shaved
This isn't The Pajama Game - Tarzan does not need his chest shaved like Mr. Connick.

i have a question that just occured to me last night:
Liotte, who sings the songs from the movie?
I know Terk sings Trashin' the Camp and I assume Kala sings You'll Be in My Heart...
is Two Worlds mostly all ensemble? Does Tarzan sing Son of Man and Strangers Like Me?
Two Worlds is sung at the beginning by Tarzan, though he is not on stage - a voice-over sort of thing. Terk sings Son Of Man with the ensemble, and Tarzan sings Strangers Like Me. That's how it was when I saw it a couple of weeks back.
Mary P x
Two Worlds is Josh Strickland singing from off stage
Am I wrong to think TARZAN is from a Brit Family?
I have seen a few Brit Boys shirtless and most are hairless.
I know this is carping.
But as has been stated here before, making him hairless
(as all TARZAN's have been)
seperates him from the Apes.
I mean even the cartoon had a hairless TARZAN!
Go ahead crucify me for being shallow.
I actually think Josh is a Cutie and I Hope this show does well.
But when they come to their senses and nair him i am available for the Job.
I kinda want this to be the fourth TONY nom after
DROWSY
PURPLE
and
JERSEY
cause I really didn't like
WEDDING
Feel free to disagree

So you've seen a few Brit boys shirtless. That doesn't speak for the whole country.
And who cares about the cartoon? This is live theatre and I'm sure Disney is trying to separate from their movie a little bit and make it a tiny bit more realistic. So, unless there's a waxing salon that Tarzan frequents in the jungle...he ain't gonna be hairless.
So You think Johnny Weismiller (sic) waxed?
(OK more than a few)
hey it was the 70's

I actually think its a little odd that so many people care whether or not his chest is waxed. I don't think it should be a Broadway requirement, but thats how many of you are treating it.
yeah, Disney is going for reality
Had to laugh a little.
Forgive me.
I forgot I was talking to the be-all end-all of theatre knowledge.

Okay, he has chest hair for realism... Does he have dreadlocks? Are his muscles and skeletal structure consistent with that of someone who lives in trees and walks on all fours? What's his complexion like? Darker skin and a rough, leathery texture, I take it?
Face it, if they're casting a pretty boy, they might as well shave his back or whatever. It's not like he's gonna look like he's spent his life in the jungle anyway.
You expect a man, raised in the jungle, to be hairless?
and remember he was raised by apes......
Mike Henry played Tarzan in a few films in the 60's and he was hairier than Strickland.
Ron Ely was not hairless in the TV series.
If ya dont like hairy guys, oh well...hairy or smooth is fine, but no actor should have to wax or shave for this role...
"I have seen a few Brit Boys shirtless and most are hairless."
Is that a serious statement? FYI, there are plenty of hairy Brits. That is my ancestry and we are a fairly hairy lot in my family, and I know many hirsute brits.
Michael Berresse is an excellent example of why waxing is not necessary. The man is BEAUTIFUL!
I cannot believe all these comments...I love Josh (and still haven't seen a picture of his hairy chest in the show) and I say Go! Go! Go! I have shaved my chest for a job, and it is hell...and to be honest I personally love a hairy chest...but at the end of the day; It is all about how Josh plays the part, that is important...not the hairs on his chest!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Janki...that was the point I was trying to make...thanks.
