Yeah your right! Thanks!
Wow. A bump post after only 4 minutes. That might be a record.
Just get to theatre 20 minutes before curtain...you'll be fine.

Thanks! It went down fast! lol! And it didn't have 1 page view! No biggy!
They don't choose on a first come first serve basis. They screen who they want so no need to rush.

I have never seen Spelling Bee... so they pick audience people to be in the show?!?!?! Please explain what happens there! I am confused and have never heard of this before!

In the show....twice I beleive...they pick someone to come on stage and spell a word! When you get it wrong the ding the bell and sing "Goodbye" I beleive!

They pick four people before the show to act as guest spellers. They sit on stage with the actors, and spell words whenever they are called up. The first three people who are eliminated are just sung "goodbye" to and recieve a juice box, while the last person receives the juice box and is sung a whole song by the Comfort Counselour (Derrick Baskin), and is followed to his or her seat by the rest of the cast.
That sounds like a lot of fun!

As to coming in to sign up- I got there about 20 minutes before the show- they closed the registration at about 10 minutes before (to pick and [probably] tell Lisa about each speller so she can improv it up) and, finally, they announce the spellers at about 5 minutes before.
So I'd say anywhere from 25-20 minutes before your performance. Look for the person with the clipboard.
I was a speller in the show. I got there at a regular time, around when everyone else arrived. Anyway, they call everyone up after the first song, who was chosen, as late spellers. You gather by the piano, and get your numbers. Now, the time you spend onstage deals a lot with blocking. They need the first bleacher free for magic foot etc. Sarah Saltzberg picked me as her companion, because the actors pick you, and I was first bleacher, so I got a hard word and was kicked off first. In most cases, the person on the last row of bleachers stays the longest. But all in all, it is sooo much fun!
Huh, that's interesting. I thought it was all luck of the draw, but that arrangement makes perfect sense.
Now all the more reason to pray that if I was a guest speller, I'd be sitting next to Jesse! Haha.
Who else here thinks NathanLaneStalker is gonna choke on "Mexicans"?
Ha. That would suck. I heard that a few people misspelled cow. Now that's just sad.

Once (in the third grade) I was in a spelling bee for my class. When we did the practice round, I got cow, and spelled it C-A-W. Yeah. I actually went on to get 2nd place in the whole thing (a schoolwide bee). But it happened.
I did see a girl choke on "cow." It was horrible.
