It's really a wonderful show. David Hyde Pierce's performance is charming and adorable. The choreography is fantastic. You have triple-threat Karen Ziemba strutting her stuff like no one else can. And one of the hardest working ensembles on Broadway.
Let us know what you thought of it when you get back.

Posted: 1/22/08 at 10:14amA very good show. Lots of laughs, good music and as stated above great choreography. David Hyde Pierce is great. Especially in the fantasy number in the second act. It was worth the price of admission alone for me. Monk and Zienba were out the day I saw it, but I still loved the show.

I love all the CURTAINS love here! I'm seeing the show tonight for the 7th time - that's how much I love the show.
Is it the best show ever written? Certainly not. But it's one of the most enjoyable nights in the theater I've ever had. And I love going back and grinning for 2 1/2 hours. :)

I am really looking forward to it now! I have not really heard much buzz about it so I thought it might not be that good. I will definitely write a review of it here tomorrow morning.
Thank you for your feedback, everyone!!

I loved it. It's like a felonious assault on the senses.
Music that is both rolicking and somber.
Lyrics that are silly, retrospect, and nostalgic.
Sets and lighting that are simple, in-your-face, and marshmallowy soft.
Dancing that is deft, acrobatic, naughty, and oh so fluffy.
Performances that are charming, energetic, edgy and campy.
Top it off with a company of principals and ensemble members that have so much talent and stage presence it should be illegal; and you have one enjoyable evening.
Just an aside - If you allow yourself to have half as much fun in the audience as the company is having on the stage - you will have had one wonderful night. Enjoy!

Hmmm - about twice a month? Yep, I'd love to see the show that many times a year! But this was all I could work into my schedule *AND* afford over the past year. (My first viewing was during previews.)
Back to the origin of this thread - have a great time tonight!

CURTAINS was a fun night out!
I hope you like it as much as I did!
Be prepared to buy the CD and listen to it often!

Posted: 1/22/08 at 12:20pmIt's a wonderful show. You're lucky to be seeing it tonight because Edward Hibbert is back from vacation. Though I love John Bolton, no one does it like Hibbert. MimiJudith, I'll be ushering!

I loved it when I took my parents as a surprise (as did they!) and we sat in the mezz. I loved it even more last Wednesday when I randomly went to the box office to ask about the partial view and got front row dead center!!
It's a fantastic show!!
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!

Love it!
David Hyde Pierce and Deb Monk at the top of their game, along with the great talents of Karen Ziemba, Jason Danieley, and Edward Hibbert (if he's still in the show) really makes for a wonderful evening. I wanna go back to see it after Erin Davie joins in.

I saw this show last Tuesday. I loved Jason Danieley's voice and that beautiful song he sang about missing his wife. I must admit that I was surprised that David Hyde Pierce's voice was not the best and I did find the storyline a little boring. But overall, I had a nice time.
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings with my fairly negative review of this show because I know how it feels to love a show and then read someone's negative review about it. It could be because I was tired after a long day at work, but I was disappointed in this show. However, I'm glad I went because I love David Hyde Pierce and it was nice to see him.

Posted: 1/29/08 at 11:47amI'm thinking about going to see the show the first week of March. Does anyone know if David is scheduled for vacation or anything that week? I really want to see him in it.

Posted: 1/29/08 at 11:52amThere are very few shows that I will see more than once. I could see this show a few more times and have just as much fun as I did when I 1st saw it. Very close to a good old fashioned stage musical. That's what I loved about it.

Posted: 1/29/08 at 2:31pmIt's not "My Fair Lady" or "The Sound of Music" or one of the GREAT musicals, but it's a whole lot of fun, and that is what I want when I go to the theatre.
