#1How long does the original cast of a broadway show stay on broadway?
Posted: 12/21/10 at 8:35pmthe reason why I ask is because me and my mom really want to see Catch Me If You Can and Priscilla Queen Of The Desert and a few more shows.we were planning to come up in April but it looks like it's going to be september when we come and that is like 6-7 months after both shows open and I'm a huge fan(not one of those crazy stalker fans like the one guy at shrek and the lion king!)of Aaron Tveit and Will Swenson and after seeing their out-of town performances on you tube(i live in california so i practically live off bootlegs lol)i would love to see them live but how long are the actors contracted to be with their shows usually?

Posted: 12/21/10 at 9:26pmYou never know if those shows will be open too -- if they do well at the Tonys, they may stay open thru next year, if they don't do well then it is rare for them to stay open too long (though that is NOT ALWAYS the case, I know there will be people who will argue with me here, I don't want an argument). Several shows usually close in June or early July each year.

As a STANDARD, most have a one year contract, but of course, there are always exceptions. The bigger the name, the bigger the chance of that.
The buzz on both of these shows is pretty big, so I wouldn't worry too much about either of them closing that early...but you really never know.
But you have an EXCELLENT chance of seeing all original actors in Sept.
