I've seen about 10 broadway shows this past year. It's different for me. My first show i saw i was four. then it was like another year til i saw my second, then after that it started to become like five every year. now for the past three years it's been inbetween 5 and 10
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
Last year, I saw 7 tours, plus baout 7 community theatre, and 3 school shows. So 17.
"Wherever you go... I'll be right there. When you get your own private kick in the ass, just remember: it's a present from me to you."
Rose's dying words to Louise
Heyyy, I'm new here, but have been an avid Broadway fan for quite a while! Hmm...I saw around 7 or 8 shows last year. I like quality seats and I don't have enough money.
(Actually, hmm...I saw Phantom of the Opera around 3 times, so I suppose it doesn't really count as 3 different shows, now, does it? *grin*)
I have averaged once a month for Broadway shows. Last December, I saw three plays in one month which was a first for me. I have a playhouse here in Jersey and may go to a few shows there. I would love to go to the opera also. I see Andrea Bocelli in concert when he is in the area. I do not know if that counts. Theater is a wonderful addiction.........
"Life is not measured by the number
of breaths we take, but by moments
that take our breath away."
"Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
but how to dance in the rain."
3 broadway shows (hairspray, tmm, nine) 2 touring (urinetown and lion king) Im jealous of the people who get to see a show more than once a week. *sigh* My future life =D
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
Eons ago, when I was working in Manhattan, I tried to see one show a month. These days, I'm far from the lights of Broadway --far across the pond -- so I don't get to go as often as I'd like to. I do make it a point to go to the theatre at least once when I'm home visiting NY, or when I go to London. Last year, I saw 8 performances -- but only three shows -- I saw one show in London six times
Since I live in the middle of nowhere in california I don't get to see many plays but at least once a year I go either to New York or London to catch at least a few shows.this year i went to the Big Apple and saw Avenue Q (which i loved)and Hairspray (which Iam now also in love with)
I've seen 3 so far. It's sad I know, but I'm young and cheap. 2002 - Cabaret w/ Raul Esparza & Heather Laws 2003 - Mamma Mia! " - Gypsy 2004 - Wicked (April 24th)
(Sigh) Not enough. I am planning my first trip to New York this summer though!:) I see most of the plays at my college we have tours come thru to some of those are free but they are only one day stops, I'm hoping to see Seussical when it comes through in a couple weeks. I've seen a lot of hows in community theatres in Indy and the equity tours through Indy.
My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...
I try to get to the theater a couple of times a week - last year I saw 166 shows - Broadway, Off Broadwady, Off Off Broadway & Regional . 40+ of those were at the Fringe Festival last summer. I live in Rhode Island so I can pretty much get myself to any play between Boston and New York. My total is 14 for this year so far.
