How's the new Wicked cast??

Did I miss it somehow? I don't recall any posts about how Rue and the rest of the new cast are doing...
Oh scratch that, I'm suddenly remembering someone was disappointed by her. Has she improved? Any updates?

Well from what I hear Ben Vareen is the best Wizard so far lol. I have seen Shoshana and Megan. Shoshana is amazing!!!! Megan is too, but I feel like she still needs a little bit of time to get into the role, but all in all she's a great performer :). The same goes for Rue. When I saw it (2 weeks ago) it was in great shape!

Ben Vereen is the best Wizard, Megan is amazingh, and Rue McCallahan MUST go. She is by far the worst person on stage. Cannot act the part, and she didn't sing a single note.

Carol Kane doesn't sing any of the notes, which is a disappointment, but only if you know how the score is supposed to go. However, she's absolutely amazing at actin the part, so it makes up for it.

I did not like Rue or Carol Kane at all. Rue just sounds bad, neither one sings, and Carol acts so ditzy and spazzy! Ben Vereen is good, of all the wizards, I prefer David Garrison. Ben is better than Joel Grey and George Hearn though.
I loved Megan! She did a fantastic job (saw her again on Friday night), and will continue to grow and thrive in this role.

I understand casting an excellent actor who can't sing (ex: Rex HArrison), but Rue just isn't cutting it. Plus, she sounds like she's been smoking for centuries.

Saw it last night. Ben was great, Megan was really good, she'll definately grow into the role, but Rue.... i'm sorry but she really didn't do it for me. She wasn't too good. Hopefully she was having a really off night.

liotte, i agree...Maybe it's just because I miss Carole, but I am not a fan of Rue's portrayal...hopefully she'll grow as Morrible...

ben vereen was wonderful! Shoshana is great too...megan is very good but she does need more time to grow in the the part. rue was good..she doesn't sing but the part doesn't call for alot of singing.

True, it doesn't call for too much singing..
But even speaking... people around me were having problems understanding what she was saying.
She was a very sweet Morrible.
Didn't think Morrible was supposed to be sweet.
I had flashbacks of Blanche.

RUE McCLANAHAN is amazing. She could walk out on stage and read from the phone book and I would give her a standing ovation.
