I'm heading to the city in a couple of weeks and i'm taking two people for the first time. I've seen a lot of shows on Broadway and usually get my tickets online with a discount code. I'm going with people who may not want to spend a lot of money so i'm trying to find something we could see that won't shock them when it comes to price. I just looked up Phantom for example, and even Rear Mezz was $70.00 each and from what i've read, you can't see much up there so that kind of feels pointless. I just want to find something that they will enjoy (probably any of the popular musicals) but is there a better way to go to get the best ticket price for a Saturday afternoon? or is $70-$100.00 each what we should be expecting even if we went to the TKTS booth? That's about what i'm used to as I never win any of the lotteries. Any suggestions?

It’s really going to depend what show you want to see. You can see Head Over Heels for less than $50 easily. If you want to see Network, you’re going to pay full price.

Popular musicals dont need to discount, so to our only option is crappy seats. Lots of shows pull discounts between Thanksgiving and New Years, but its worth looking for them in th je usialCes.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

You'll typically pay around $85 for Phantom at TKTS, but the seats are usually really good. Like mid-Orchestra.
