If done well, I'd be all for it.
But they would have to bring back Danny!
And find the PERFECT Matilda.
and Miss Honey (that was her name right?) could have a pretty song like "Other People's Stories)

YES!

I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

I generally dislike children's/family musicals. Though I think they have a purpose. But I love Matilda and I would definitely see it if it was well written with decent songs.

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

The Witches would be fantastic. It would provide so many cool possibilities for casting.

MATILDA would be incredibly easy to cast.

Rob Bartlett as Mr. Wormwood
Harriet Harris/Patti LuPone as Mrs. Wormwood
Kelli O'Hara as Ms. Honey
Emily Skinner as Ms. Trunchbull

Anything Rold Dalh wrote is whimsical enough for the stage and I would definitely be interested. I would LOVE to see Matilda. There are so many times where I could imagine the characters to break out into a fantastic song.

"Rob Bartlett as Mr. Wormwood
Harriet Harris/Patti LuPone as Mrs. Wormwood
Kelli O'Hara as Ms. Honey
Emily Skinner as Ms. Trunchbull "

Perfect Casting. Especially Emily Skinner. :)

I doubt I'd see this, but I'd definitely look into this.

Emily Skinner doesn't really seem like Miss Trunchbull material. The character is supposed to be tall and rather masculine-she was a discus thrower or something it says in the book. I see someone slightly older as well. Remember, she's Miss Honey's aunt and raised her. I'm not quite sure who fits the bill.

As for Mrs. Wormwood, I think Harriet Harris is pretty good
and I agree that Rob Bartlett as Mr. Wormwood is good casting.

For Miss Honey, how about Erin Davie or Kerry Butler.

"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." Sherie Rene Scott
