Hugh Jackman - World Tour

wow thanks for sharing!!!! I saw Boy From Oz back in 2004 and then his show on Bway back in 2011. Looking forward to this coming to NYC! I just noticed it will be the same weekend as World Pride too!

Now that he has finished the X-men franchise I guess he has the time now.

The only things I don't like is This is a huge tour w a lot of one night stands- that is going to take a toll.

Also the venues are YUUGH. I suspect they will have to use screens to allow people to see him in any kind of close up.

When he was workshoping Back on Broadway in Toronto- I had the 3rd row on the inside aisle seat . When he sat down on the stage steps to do "Tenterfield Saddler" ( one of my fav Boy from Oz songs tho not done on Bway) It was one of the most intimate and moving theatre experiences. Afraid that will be lost.

Hugh has done arena tours before and surprisingly he found a way for the audience to get a little closer to him. During his Boy from Oz arena tour in Australia ( where he played in large performing venues such as the Rod Laver Stadium), he found a way to get up to the crowds on the second levels. Also, for his more recent Broadway to Oz arena tour, the stage was configured so that part of it protruded way into orchestra center, which allowed him to perform closer to that part of the audience. But of course there will likely be big screens on either side of the stage.

It looks like this tour was being arranged for sometime now given the variety of the places he is holding the shows in. His advantage is that he has a film career, too, which has found popularity in many parts of the world and makes it easy to sell the shows. But this type of show is a surprise because in very recent interviews he has mentioned a few times that he wants to do a book musical, and not a variety show. But I guess this one will focus on his musical repertoire -- which started as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast

Where are you, Miramar3? I'm in Southern California and looking for pre-sale for Jackman's concert in San Diego. I was told by a rep of AXS that they would be sending presale codes today and tonight at random - meaning not everyone is going to get a presale code. Anyone in the San Diego area get a code?

Thanks for the link, Miramar3. We'll keep our fingers crossed. The AXS rep I spoke to on the phone said they are sending out random codes. I don't know if he was right or whatever. It's 11:30 pm PST and I haven't received anything from AXS. We'll see what happens tomorrow at 10 am PST. I'll post what I find out. Thanks!

Thanks very much, but before I saw your message, I tried the code THEMAN. That got me through. I was able to get an excellent seat on first try (and I hope you did, as well). In all the 25 years I've lived here, I've not been to that arena before. Enjoy the show!

I got a fantastic seat in San Jose! No on sale date has been announced yet for The Hollywood Bowl.

Tickets go on sale Friday for the show in Philadelphia. Codes theman, themusic, theshow worked for Wells Fargo. Got Tix for me and my mom! :) Range was $45 to $220
