Check him out in a big movie coming out next week, AUSTRALIA. There is a famous shower scene that everyone's talking about - LOL!

Has any other Broadway actor ever won this recognition?
At least in the first sentence from the PEOPLE cover story, Hugh is described as someone who "can dance and sing...and wield a weapon".

Well, he was a film actor before he was a Broadway actor.
So I wouldn't exactly call him a "Broadway actor" as though his career was home grown from Broadway up.

Hurray! One with a hairy chest, and he isn't afraid to show it and show it often. (Are you listening, George Clooney?) He's even been seen in a Speedo.

He was a theatre actor before he became a film actor.
I saw him in OKLAHOMA! in London before he became Wolverine.
Even in his native Australia, he had played the role of Gaston in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and Joe Gillis in SUNSET BOULEVARD before he starred in Australian films.

Perfection! Hugh is amazingly hot and so talented!
Well, it is about damned time.
Nothing us Ozalots didn't know already.
"Oh, what a beautiful mornin'", indeed!

I have no problem with the choice of Hugh Jackman, but the rest of the choices seem to be gleaned solely from popular culture. Where are Joshua Bell, Keith Lockhart, Tyler Florence, Sam Champion, David Wright, Mike Piazza, and Patrick Wilson?
Come on, there are more sexy men than those who pop up on Page Six.
I always hate this stupid People issue. Like they went out and saw every living male on the planet before making the decision. The title should be "Sexist Male Celebrity Hopefully Still Alive Upon Publication (Fingers Crossed)"
Mmm I love me some Hugh Jackman. Very sexy indeed.
I think my wife would agree.
Hey - Hi Miss Lizzy!
Ken
Hi, Ken!!! Long time no talk...amazing how our Boy From Oz gets us all out of the woodwork, no?
Miss Lizzy
Lizzy - lol - good to see you post! Yes, long time no talk indeed. Looking good! Haven't been to as many shows lately, but we still try to see one every month or so....
Mr. Jackman certainly deserves it. Lyn (wife, for non-Lizzy people) still has her signed Boy From Oz playbill framed and posted at work.... I'm sure you have much Jackman memorabilia!
Ken
Ken, I have my legendary leopard-print gloves signed and framed with my opening and closing night ticket stubs, along with some glitter Barbara Cook gave me at closing night...
But my favorite souvenir was still from opening night - the miniature piano that served as my table's centerpiece, signed to me on the lid by Hugh. *sigh*

It's about time!
I think my husband would agree! Anyway, great picture, his hair is perfection.
When I saw Mr.Jackman in Boy From OZ, I was in the front row and he waved to me during the finale. I have kinda had a crush ever since.
I will never forget...took my mom to the May 22nd (Saturday night) show of The Boy From Oz...front row (it was my Mother's Day gift to her, as when I was a kid, we'd watch Peter Allen on the Mike Douglas and Merv Griffin shows...and it was payback time LOL)
Apparently my mother do indeed look alike, as during the curtain call, Hugh looked at my mom, did a little wave and mouthed, "Hi, Mom!"
I had to practically scrape her off the Imperial Theater floor.

Im not sure, but I am certain that he won this, because of his film work, I doubt they mention on PEOPLE that he has done theatre in London or Broadway.
And I don't find him sexy at all! He is gross, I wouldn't sleep with him.
Why are The sexiest men alive only actors that have big movies coming out at the same time?
I love Hugh, but would he have a chance at this magazine cover if the big bust, Australia, wasn't about to be released? I guess we can thank the movie studio's PR dept.

Because Time is a promo machine disguised as a magazine? Such is life. Jackman's still sexy as hell to me, whether or not his movie releases are timed right for this "honor".
