I'm sure they recycle Hunter because he's talented and somewhat of a name in the theatre community, which is usually who keeps the shows going while they're not in their tourist seasons.
Good for Hunter! Welcome back. Matthew Broderick is Leo for me, but he was great the time I saw him.
"That's what I had heard too. His contract was up, but somebody kept insisting that he was fired to bring Roger in as "stunt casting."
Roger Bart as "stunt casting"? Roger is hardly known outside the theatre world to even be considered stunt casting.
Roger Bart is certainly NOT stunt casting... especially in THE PRODUCERS.
I want Dennis O'hare to play this role!
His name isn't really known...go "george!" when they see him.
I wouldn't call Roger Bart stunt casting either. No one recognizes his name when they're buying tickets. Now, when they get to the theater and are reading through the Playbill, it's possible some audience members will say, "Oh, the guy who used to be on Desperate Housewives is playing Leo." But I highly doubt anyone outside of the theater world knows that going on.

"Source? Hun, don't pull random myths out of nowhere."
What a jerk. Obviously I would have given a source if I remembered it. It was in some article I read - I want to say Playbill (I wasn't saying he was going to be in Mary Poppins, just suggesting a show he could do) I'm not sure what my motivation would be to just make things up, but apparently you know me better than I do.
