Hunter was my favorite Melchior acting-wise. Vocally, he wasn't the strongest, but he acted the hell out of the role even with his voice on rapid decline. I sat next to him onstage for his "first" performance on 8/18 and he was phenomenal that night. Hi "Mirror Blue Night" that evening was the best I've ever heard.
I LOVED Hunter's acting, but his voice was weak. Left Behind (my favorite moment in the show) sounded particularly bad. Overall, I liked him more than Kyle Riabko, but less than Jonathan Groff and Jesse Swenson.
Overall, he was my favorite Melchior. Vocally, yes, he was weaker. It was a good thing I saw him earlier on in his run when his voice was in its top form. His "Mirror Blue Night" was my favorite interpretation of that song. Vocally and acting-wise. He was, in the acting department, the best Melchior. Hands down.
