Was he the one who thought Jesus didn't want him to do Weeds? Why would Jesus want him to do Pippin? There's premarial and connubian.
Damn WiCkEDrOcKS, you must not have seen many shows is that is the worst thing you have seen. I saw all three Melchiors and liked them all but Hunter was my favorite. I thought he sounded fine on the Godspell CD. He is gorgeous, hard working and charismatic. I don’t think he’d get the role of Pippin without Stephen Schwartz's approval on being vocally acceptable.
If Hunter gets the role or not is speculation but what I don't have to question is the bitchy negative nellies on here. What do you get for trashing stars who have great careers? Too bad you don't have something better to do with your time? Perhaps get a job of your own so people can trash you on here?

One could say the same thing about you. You're posting in this thread just like everyone else.

Why do you assume that we don't have jobs?

I thought Hunter's performance in Godspell was beautiful. Not sure why people didn't like him. I think his version of Beautiful City is incredible. I think it's much more effective as a ballad than an uptempo song in previous incarnations. I think his voice is so natural and pure.
I loved his "Beautiful City" on CD but I'm fully willing to concede he might not have been able to perform it like that live 8 times a week (or at all).

This would be a stretch but why not consider...Erik Altemus!

I only don't like him because of his interview on here, where he was very worried about the state of his immortal soul. Since then, I've kept an eye on his career decisions and think Pippin would guarantee an eternity in the fiery furnace. I'm a mult-tasker, so I am able to do this every once in a while and hold down a full-time job. It's not that tough if you love what you do.
Long live God.
^I didn't get that from his interview at all. He merely said that he chose to do Weeds at a time before he had any (what he called) "spiritual maturity." He never mentioned being worried about his immortal soul. He simply said that if he had been more of a religious person eight years prior then he may not have accepted the role, but that he was still grateful for it and for everything that the success on Weeds brought him. To me that seemed like a pretty level headed response without him being overly zealous about his beliefs.
