I Am Sold !! Hugh Panaro Rocks !!!

Just got back from "Phantom", and all I can say is.. "WOW" !!!!
Hugh Panaro is by far the best that we have seen in this role!
Voice aside, (which is absolutely amazing), he acting is amazing !

Sandra Joseph too !! What pipes !!! I think this was around the 9th or 10th time that we have seen the show, and never enjoyed it more !!

Yes, Hugh is awesome, but I could not understand a word that the "Christine" character sang. I have seen the show 4 times and this was my last, I am glad I got to see Hugh.

Hugh gotta love Hugh. Handsome, talented, and very very very nice.

My dad has seen Phantom more than 20 times and Hugh is his favorite. He has a beautiful voice and is so nice to the fans! re: I Am Sold !! Hugh Panaro Rocks !!!

Did someone say Hugh Panaro?! AH! Well I've been sold on Hugh Panaro for quite sometime now, and for obvious reasons! He is definitely my favorite Phantom and Broadway guy. I swear...his voice is just liquid gold. Plus he's got such a golden heart too! :) *sigh*

Hugh Panaro is the PHANTOM god. I wish I could give an opinion about Christine speaking to be understood because I have every word and note in this show in my head already so I don't know. Does anyone want me to recite the entire score of PHANTOM right now?

Ah, Roz, Roz, I didn't even know you went here, but as soon as I saw a post about Hugh, I KNEW you'd be here plugging your website. XD

But yes. Hugh is absolutely wonderful, and a very friendly person.

I am so mad. I went to see Phantom of the Opera on June 2nd. According to the letter our teacher gave us, we were supposed to have a meet and greet with the cast. Hugh was in the show that day, along with Julie Hanson as Christine. I was looking forward to the meet and greet. During intermission, I wanted to confirm with my teacher about the meet and greet, so I asked her if we were still doing the meet and greet after the show. She said we would if we had time, she wasn't sure. Then we never went after, we just gathered in a group in the lobby after the entrance and went to wait for the bus...a guy, an usher or someone, said that everyone had to leave the theater and to wait for anyone outside. Overall, I did have a great time in NYC, but I was disappointed about the meet and greet...that wasn't fair, lol, I was looking forward to it!

I went back to Phantom in February for the first time in 16 years, since seeing the original cast, and I have to agree with the posters here about Hugh Panaro's Phantom. He's sounding the best I've ever heard him sing, and he brought a younger, vibrant spin to the character. The show remains in fine shape, even with a somewhat broad performance here and there from the company.

Oh Dana! Would you expect anything else from me?! He, he! :) Hey I didn't know that you came here either!

How long Hugh's going to be the Phantom...hmmmm. Well I've heard that his contract ends in either Sept. or Nov. But don't take my word on that. When I was in NYC, I asked him whether he was going to renew his contract or not, and he told me he wasn't allowed to talk about it yet. So beats me! :)

I saw Phantom many years ago and have gotten interested in seeing it again especially with Hugh in it. I heard him perform on Broadway on Broadway.

I did dinner theater with Hugh a million years ago back in Pennsylvania...proud of his Broadway accomplishments.

a friend is loaning me that MAKING IT book soon, can't wait. i also want to read the Doug Storm section, i've met him casually (i think that's his name, he was in BAT BOY). Rocker type singer.

Hugh Panaro IS a god. And it's OK for him to spit because...he is a god. He is INCREDIBLE as the Phantom and he is SUCH a sweet guy. I saw it twice in one week, the first time w/ Julie Hanson, the second w/ Sandra Joseph...I liked Julie better but I think Sandra had a cold because I understand she's amazing...she just wasn't when I saw her...but she took the spitting better than Julie did.

Hugh in book Making It on Broadway

I love Panaro, he's easily my favorite Hugh on Broadway. What really stands out about him is his amazing versatility. Compare his work in Phantom to his performance as Buddy in Side Show (if you don't have the CD, GET IT!) I also saw him do an incredible Anthony in Sweeney Todd at the Kennedy Center. He'll never be my favorite Phantom (Franc D'Ambrosio and Davis Gaines are hard to beat) but he's definitely one I'd pay to see twice.
