Ok I thought that was just me
I kept trying to convince myself that it was maybe the backlighting that was highliting the "myst" coming from his mouth, but christ!
And I'm assuming that wasn't a speck of glitter on his chin, but in fact saliva.
I'm certainly not saying thats a bad thing, I'd let him take my temperature any day.

Logan, you're not going to hell.
Everyone likes different stuff. That's why there tons of shows open, so people can see and love different things.

Coming from a fellow DRS fan I'm more re-assured of my salvation.

Continuing the expectations thought... When I first saw SA, which I think was early Jan, I had such low expectations. I probably had these low expectations because I read what people write on BWW too much. Anyways, I went into the theater thinking it was going to be a horrible show, but at least I would be entertained for the evening.
When the show started, I was shocked at how much better it was than I had originally thought. I personally love the show. Now, people have such high expectations.
Obviously, if people are saying it is the best musical ever written and it deserved every single award, than they are putting too much hype on the show. It is flawed, but I enjoyed it enough to have seen it several times.
I feel bad that so many people feel it is so over rated. I have yet to see a person blowing it way out of proportion. People love it, people don't. That's perfectly fine. Maybe if you weren't expecting to be blown away, you might have liked it better.
My rambling will come to an end now. No, you are not going to hell because you didn't love it.

Well, I hope your punishment in hell is having to read posts about the same topic involving the same people and the same opinions over and over and over for the rest of eternity.
That would suck. "Spring Awakening was underwhelming! Grey Gardens deserved the Tony! BEST SHOW EVER WRITTEN#+)(&@*_$+FH~!"
Anyway, so you didn't like it. Good for you. Honestly, I think the people who didn't like it are more vocal than the ones who did. I hardly ever hear from anyone that it's the most amazing show ever written (except maybe Sater and Sheik who need to shut up). If you actually read the critical reviews I believe the critics fell in love with it because it felt so different from what has recently plagued Broadway, not from what has graced it for the last 80 years. Aside from Christopher Isherwood. I'm pretty sure he's never heard a guitar in his life...

I agree with much of what you say in your post as well as one you posted here, https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.cfm?page=2&thread=939078
Only flaw is: "having to read about the same topic involving the same people and the same opinions over and over and over for the rest of eternity"
Nothing is forcing you to read any of these threads, you have complete free will once you've read the title to enter or leave it alone. Obviously its still pertinent enough to have 55 replies and 1700 views and I feel as though this is intelligent discussion... or would you rather have more replies to threads about the next Elphaba or Adam Pascal returning to RENT?
