I was wondering about this too a couple nights ago when I previewed the music on iTunes for the first time. Sounds decent. Is it worth buying the cast recording?

First, I tried to get the sheet music from the composers, and I was told that you could acquire individual songs, but each one ended up being about $10.

And here is what the email said:
"Beginning today our computer system is now set to sell individual songs from I LOVE YOU BECAUSE, BARE, and ZANNA, DON’T for $10 each, which includes one copy of the selected song from the Piano/Conductor score, along with processing and shipping.
In order to purchase a song, please call Emily Graham (646) 736-3242 or Angela Fallon (646) 736-3240. Emily or Angela will take your credit card information and mail a copy of the sheet music to you (or FAX it if there is a rush). For security reasons our Director of Music and Materials is reluctant to allow PDF copies of our songs to be sent via the Internet at the present time. If you are not in a rush, you can mail a check along with your song request(s) and we will mail the music back to you within 24 hours of receiving payment.

Second, I really like this score. It reminds me of Jason Robert Brown, especially "But I Do." Beautiful voices and some great songs. I have not seen the show, but I do enjoy the CD a lot.

I saw a production of it and, personally, loved the music. There's some good stuff. Not many solo songs...there's a lot of duets. Up beat music. The accompaniment is synth, though. If it bothers you...I don't mind it at all.

"Goodbye" is a pretty good song, but i mean it's not that showy.

I love the music. One of the best random cast recordings I have bought before knowing anything about it first.
<--- the set of A Midsummer Night's Dream that I was assistant stage manager for during the 2007 season at the STNJ outdoor stage.

Ok, so I'm currently rehearsing for the Australasian Premiere of I Love You Because, and I have to ask, is it just me or do most of the songs sound like songs from other musicals? I know occasionally in shows there are songs that are similar to songs from others, but to me pretty much EVERY song in this show sounds like something I've heard before.
Its a nice show, but I don't find that in brings anything new or interesting to the musical theatre table.
