I have no student id with me here in New York and I am dying to see a show but don't wanna shell out the outrageous prices.
I have the entire list of rushes and things from TalkinBroadway, but I need to find a show that won't matter on student id, I know I'm like smacking myself in the head, but I need to know.
Chicago has a general rush, but it's probably a little crazy now that Usher is in the show. That and all of the shows with lotteries do not necessitate a student id.

Well then do some lotto hopping. Is that a real term? Oh well, find which lotto has the earliest name collection time, down to the lotto that has the latest name collection time.
Color Purple is also general rush. If you look like a student they may not ask at some shows sop its worth just to try. I rarely have to show Id because I look so young. I didn't have to show it at The Wedding Singer or Jersey Boys off the top of my head. Also for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels lottery you not have to even play, juts go pick up the rush seats. Standing Room os also an option.

I look young enough to be a student {i am one, I'm gonna be a senior.}and I wanna see The Wedding Singer, so maybe like Just_John said I can go and just get the tickets for being young.

If it helps, they don't check your student ID when student rushing at Sweeney.
A senior in H.S.? If you have something with your bday on it, you can point out your age and that you'd obviously be in school, and maybe they will let you slide. I'm not sure though.
Lottos and general rushes are always options as well.

Has anyone ever gotten away with getting student rush tickets using an ID that is no longer valid? I am a student, but the only form of student ID I have is one that I got for doing a course at a university this summer. On the front of the ID it says "Valid SM '06" (meaning, of course, "Summer 2006"), and obviously I'm running out of time to use it--probably won't be able to before the summer is up. Do you think I could get away with using it the rest of this year (and maybe even next year), at least at certain shows? I don't look like I'm out of college, so nobody is really going to think I'm no longer a student, but will they still be strict about an expired student ID?
I think you can get fake ones in China town. Fake NYU ones, or where-ever. Heck you could even make one. They all look different.
Heh...when you think about why those are normally bought, I would look like a friggin angel. If I get busted, somehow I don't think the cop will believe "I just wanna see Patti LuPone!".
For real, though, unless I do get a fake student ID (not a terrible idea, thanks), has anyone gotten away with a real, expired one?
