Hello, I've been taking voice lessons for about a year now, and I think they've helped enormously. So, I've worked up the courage to post this video, to show you all where I am now. I need criticism so I can get better, and I won't be upset, as long as it's helpful. Thank you so much!
With One Look
Do not film with the light behind your subject.
Just an observation, it looks like you are taking many of your breaths from your chest. That may be something to work on with your vocal teacher.
What does that mean, ljay? (I'm seriously interested, though not a singer.) Do you mean breathing with the pectoral muscles rather than the lower abdomen?
To the OP, I'm sure you've watched American Idol (waiting for the board to crash at the mere mention) auditions. You might notice that the best singers usually sing something relatively simple in their first, a cappella audition.
I like the tone of your voice, but it's really hard to sing power ballads without accompaniment.
.) Do you mean breathing with the pectoral muscles rather than the lower abdomen?
Correct. You can read more about it here.

I think you need to work on having a stabled vibrato. I can't really tell what are the things you need to work on due to the song you chose.
Thank you, ljay. I always preface my remarks in threads like these with the caution that I am not a vocal coach.
Although I can't do it myself, I think I'm learning as much as anybody in these "How Am I Doing?" type threads.
To the OP: when I opened this thread, I really thought you were posting a sarcastic thread in response to all the other "critique me" threads. (Sorry if my earlier post was snarky.)
