I won tickets to see it a couple weeks ago. So, my parents and I went to see it last night. Let me just say... I LOVED IT! Dominic Nolfi went on as Frankie and blew me away. Everyone was so great and I'm really glad i got to see this show!
I picked up the CR after the show, and was kind of dissappointed. There's just too much dialogue on there for me. I really like the music though, so i can just skip the dialogue.
EVERYONE GO SEE JERSEY BOYS!
I was there last night to. The show is very entertaining. But still.. not my kind of musical. It is basically a concert with story. I also thought the understudy was great. Lots of New jersey people in the audience. You could tell by the garish make up and jewels the women were wearing. That's this shows demographic. ( I don't mean to be insulting.. but that's what was there)
There was one annoying person clapping out of synch with the music when no one else was. Was that you? I hope not.
Hey! Glad you loved the show! I saw Dominic Nolfi as Frankie Valli when Jersey Boys was at La Jolla Playhouse last year. He was excellent! Hope you get to go back & see John Lloyd Young--as Frankie--he was truly amazing!
I honestly liked the dialogue in the CD, 'cause it makes me think back to how great the characters were in the show.

Wow, what a nice insensitive and stereotyped remark Dame. Classy.

I saw Jersey Boys last month---I'm going back next month, but, since I'm from New Jersey---I'll have to make sure I pile on the makeup and go shopping for some cheap gaudy jewelry first. I didn't realize that us Jersey-ites had a dress code.
Don't worry, it's probably coming from some farmer in Albama with his 72 slaves.
Ignore stupidity, like Dame.
He can't be from a civilized culture, not saying anything with the south, just a joke. No one should ever talk about that, especially with the amount of people from New York, myself included, and Jersey.

Actually, DAME, the offbeat clapper was sitting 2 seats down from me. I'm sure there was more than one though! there always is
Hey, DAME, who do you think you are, Frankie Valli? I'd like to see how you were dressed for the show! The ladies from Jersey were having a good time--sorry if they didn't dress to your standards!
Jersey Boys is one of the best times you can have right now on Broadway! The cast and the music are phenomenal! Hope everyone out there has a chance to see it--I came in from the West Coast last month--and can't wait to see it again!!!

Hey guys.. I love the ladies from jersey. I have two aunts just like that. It might be stereotypical. But it is true. Thats the way they are and thats the way they were dressed. And rebels.. I was in a suit and tie. Glad you all enjoyed the show.
How is the show selling?

It's one of the biggest new hits on Broadway, coming close to selling out most weeks.
Excellent. You know i was mixed about it when I saw it.. but something in me is making me want to see it again.
I'm starting to think I'm the only person who DIDN'T like the show...
I saw it Thursday night. I wasn't particularly excited about seeing it because I tend to not be a fan of the whole jukebox musical concept and I pretty much only went because my mother really wanted to see it. I found the first act a bit underwhelming and more about stuffing in as many songs as possible than advancing the plot, with Christian Hoff's performance being the main saving grace. The second act was absolutely fantastic, with much more of a defined plot and opportunities for each of the 4 main actors to shine. By the end of the show, I found myself wanting to see it again, something I wouldn't have expected before seeing the show or even at the end of Act 1.
The show is fun. But a jukebox musical after all. I think I enjoyed "Good Vibrations" a little more. John Lloyd Young was the best thing in the show.
Yes, but the fact that it's a jukebox musical has no bearing on the fact that it's actually good - the best new musical of the season thus-far. I don't understand your logic...
and I don't understand yours, so we are even.
Right...have you even seen it?
of course i have, i don't talk about shows i haven't seen.
Well. true.. the show is like fast food. But I think the music is good. And the crowd ( those Jersey ladies) are a hoot. If they could just kee their bracelets from making so much noice when they move their hands.
LOL!!!
When I saw it yesterday afternoon, the man sitting next to me was the grandchild of one of the real-life characters in the play. (DaCosta, or something - the "Italian" guy.)
When his character started speaking Italian, he turned to me and said "My Grandfather didn't speak Italian..." It was funny.
Muscle; It is true. I thought I was in a episode of the Sopranos go to broadway.
Jersey ladies are fabulous...and you're just jealous.
i think when i saw the show i felt like every person in the audience was from "The Nanny", so now it seems more like "The Sopranos"?
