I don't want the splashy musicals. What should I see?

Hello everyone!
I apologize for yet another, "What should I see?" thread... however....

I will be in the city from Feb.24th - March 5th.
I already have tickets for:
Book of Mormon
Gentleman's Guide...
Waiting for Godot
Kinky Boots
Outside Mullinger

What else should I see? I'm kind of looking for something off the beaten path... I'm positive I'll see some of the other flashy Broadway musicals... but I would also love to see something different!

wdw -- I never said I didn't like them, but I don't really need advice on which ones to see. I KNOW which flashy musicals I want to see. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on something a little less tourist/"mainstream"

If you haven't seen it yet then you should see ONCE -- you will not regret it. There is nothing flashy just a musical about real (okay fictionally real) human beings.

Besides if you're wearing yourself out during the week, seeing Once will be a good opportunity to catch up on your sleep.

ONCE definitely fits the bill.

Also, depending on when you have your free night, NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 is certainly among the best "off the beaten path" options for you, though some might consider it "flashy."

Both great options, and great changes of pace from the rest of your lineup.

Add me to the list of people who recommend Once and Great Comet. Once is a quieter, more touching musical. Great Comet is a bit more opulent, but it was absolutely brilliant and I can’t shill it enough.

I also recommend Natasha, depending on what you're definition of "flashy" is. It is by far not the "traditional musical," and is an offbeat immersive experience.

for a flashy musical see PIPPIN it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for a not splashy musical I would recommend Avenue Q!

After Midnight is a beautiful show, with amazing dancing and singing. You'll be transported back to the Cotton Club circa 1930. I loved it.
