I got YF OBCR last week at the show. I've listened to it completley through a few times, but there are some songs that I just listen to constantly. I think Sutton's yodeling is really great, and there is just something is Roger's voice that I love! I also love listening to "Together Again" and "Transylvania Mania" just to hear Christopher Fitzgerald's voice. He's really great:)

I think what Matthew Broderick lacks in singing he makes up for in comic time and charm. I probably would have enjoyed listening to him more than Bart. In fact, I think Bart is the weak link in this cast recording--along with most of the songs of course.
I have to say I agree with WannaBeFoster re Megan Mullally's songs. I can't stop listening, she is hilarious. I still wish I could have the chance of listening to Chenoweth singing them only because the songs seem SO opposite of her persona that it baffles me she even considered to be part of this.
Andrea Martin, Sutton Foster, and Christopher Fitzgerald are all charming and fun. One can only wonder what these great bunch of comedic actors would have done provided with better songs.

I totally agree that Bart is the weak link in this cast and I don't particularly like his speaking voice, much less his singing voice. The previous post who said that Christopher Fitzgerald didn't put his "all" into the cast recording, can I ask what songs you were referring to? If you listen to "Together Again", Bart shouldn't even be in this song. It's all CF!!! Even though this show is doing well and I enjoyed it, I think Broderick would have added so much to this show.

I got the cd and I love it. Fitzgerald sounds fantastic and though i havent seen the show the word tony comes into my mind when i hear him on the cd. I liked roger bart but I think he is weaker in this recording that the others I have heard him on. Sutton is fantastic as always and Megan sounds very good to. I for one am enjoying this recording and was very skeptcle but am very pleasently surprised

I'm so glad to finally have this. I think the score is quite strong, and the cast, amazing. I like that a lot of the lines from the film are on the CD, plus some of the great new jokes ("Victor won the three legged race all by himself").

I downloaded the CR for YF on iTunes, and I LOVE IT. So, I bought a hardcopy (I always do that if I download a CR online). And it should be here tomorrow, but from what I have on iTunes, I love it. And I do agree Roger Bart seems...to not fit in the cast. You have all these amazing, hilarious people..and then BAM. Bart. It just doesn't fit (in my opinion).

Oh! And to those who have the Xanadu cast recording, I'm glad to know, I'M not the only one who can't get it off repeat. My friend sent me a copy and it and YF alternate on repeat. Cause WOW. They're both awesome. :) Just saying

I don't think Bart is that bad on the soundtrack. I actually enjoy the whole ensemble. I've been listening to YF nonstop. I downloaded it from Amazon, but I'm probably am going to buy the CD since I want the lyrics.
Can anyone else not stop laughing during "He Vas My Boyfriend"? Especially the part where she was talking about how Victor won the three legged race by himself.

Btw, where is everyone getting the Xanadu soundtrack from? I really want it, but its not out yet

Regarding YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN -- please note, this is JUST a recording of the songs/numbers from the show. It isn't at all true representation of the actual show as performed on stage. In other words -- you don't have the scenes with dialogue, etc., so people praising each actor's performance (and announcing Tony nods) per what they hear on this recording is quite pointless.

Sutton Foster on this recording SHINES. On stage, after her first number, she just blends into the background and wasted for the rest of the show.

Its a shame the actual show (as performed on stage) isn't up-to-par with the cast recording.

This is another case of: cast recording better than the show.
