that certain Broadway stars frequent these boards--secretly, obviously--and act almost as spies. any thoughts?

I'd agree. I work for Royal Caribbean, and I always lurk the cruise reviews boards, so I'd imagine it would be true for the theatre.

copeman - I used to work for RCI, what do you do? EDIT - nevermind, I saw on your profile that you are a black shirt guy :) In that case, what ship are you on? I don't know how it is now but last time I was on a ship they had the cruise staff working spots for the review shows... kind of sad.

PS - and yes, I'm quite sure that even if they don't, they still hear about what's said somehow.

I am friends with some of the big Mamma Mia! groupies, and one time one of the cast members got mad at one of my friends because she read one a site about how this fan didn't like a particular performer in the show, so she confronted her at the stage door one night, pretty funny, haha.

If I were a Broadway star... I don't think I'd *want* to know.

Especially of what goes in many Broadway stars' 'Official Love Thread.' Those can be scary, scary places. If there are any Broadway stars reading this, if you ever see a '[Your Name] Official Love Thread' or 'official lurrrrve thread' or 'official <3333333 thread' or WHATEVER, just...... stay away.

I am sure that they do visit these websites. I think who should frequent certain websites should be hotels to see what people are talking about them. You would think that they would improve on what has been said about them.

I know for a fact that my friends who are performers have been here. Unfortunatly one of my dear friends had repeated untrue stories told about them and has called me amny times in tears. They no longer frequent here. So, i can say from my experience - yes they do

Yes, why Chenofan is really Idina Menzel and Rath is really Bernadette. Don't make Corine2 mad either, she is really Patti LuPone and Dollypop, well, that IS Carol herself as well. I cannot say who I am but I love my "Dancer's Life". Muscle23ftl is Vanessa Williams and Ray is really Liza, she just likes to talk about herself. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These boards are watched by the industry. There have been incidents involving members of this board being found out and confronted for their comments, and at least one board member I know people have been trying to track down to confront. You think producers and directors aren't going to check these boards to see what people think of their shows? I say be completely truthful in your reviews, but do not flame shows for the sake of flaming. It may just come back to bite you in the butt. I, of course, should heed my own advice much more often!

I've always wondered if performers lurked as those "tweeny boppers" to lure out the worst in people and just snicker and laugh.

I know I guy that worked on "Laugh Whore" who told me that Mario, or someone associated with the show, when on bords to see what ppl were saying.
