I'm dreaming of a White Christmas

Has anyone seen the stage version of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. It is back at the St. Louis Muny this week (where it debuted 6 years ago)and is getting good reviews. Let me know what you think of it!

I saw it twice in San Francisco last year. Very cute show! I'm not sure how well it'd do during the summer, though. Seems a little strange.

I've seen it both years in SF. I think it's nearly perfect -- like watching an MGM musical live on stage. The sets, the costumes, the choreography...even the dialogue and "tone" were period-perfect.

I don't know that much about it.
I have a thing for old-timey stuff, so this thread will be useful for me.

I would have preferred that it was like watching a Paramount musical live on stage; but, you can't have everything.

I fixed the link... and it's playing this week in St. Louis because
a)the Muny is an outdoor theater
b) Paul Blake is the executive producer of the Muny and directed this production

i'm seeing tomorrow night, im excited

I hope you love it as much as I did...I've seen it both times it was in SF, 2004 with Denman and 2005 with Ledbetter. Both casts were stellar, the sets were beautiful recreations of a Vermont inn, and the dancing....let me just say it gave me hope that not everybody has given up on delivering tap and partner dancing to take your breath away.

White Christmas is my absolute all time favorite movie. I watch it ALL the time. Actually, just the other night.

If it ever came to Broadway, I think it might have the same fate as other screen to stage transfers re the critics:

The Actors Playhouse (at the Miracle Theatre) has WHITE CHRISTMAS as part of its 06-07 season. They're also supposedly releasing a CD of WHITE CHRISTMAS...

How could you not love any show show called WHITE CHRISTMAS. I didn't make the time to see it when I had the chance.

For a jewish man not born in the United States to write such a truly christian and American song is one of those God works in mysterious ways scenarios.

If it comes to town again, I'll make sure I see it.

You should see HOLIDAY INN too. There are some sweet scenes in it that pc crowd always have cut when it airs on television. Enjoy!
