I'm in love with the "110" score

The music is gorgeous, but the lyrics are lazy and generic. I am only familiar with the revival cast recording. I've seen the show twice now, and both on stage and on the CD, Steve Kazee doesn't do it for me. Is Starbuck supposed to be 10 years younger than Lizzie? Because it just seems so obvious, and it takes away from the possibility of any real chemistry.
Audra is stunning and I love listening to her, John Cullum -- who is fantastic, and every word that Bobby Steggert sings. Christopher Innvar also has a rich, full voice that is great to listen to. What really takes away from it all is those darn lyrics. Nothing kills me more than listening to great performers trying to dig true meaning out of lazy, run of the mill lyrics.

I love the performances on the Revival Cast Recording, but man those orchestrations (sorry, Mr. Tunick) sound like some small community theatre band. Horrible.
I love the complete JAY recording (even Ms. Ziemba singing uncomfortably high), but the indispensable recording is still the OBC.

While some ring fairly true (Old Maid), others sound like they're trying to remake Clambake (WhY????). One of the most disappointing songs is "Is It Really Me?" which should really be one of the most glorious.

Reading the Rainmaker, on which 110 is based, I noticed Jones lifted SO much of the text and put it straight into the lyrics.
I think the score is a solid, Golden Age Broadway Musical score.
Not bad, not brilliant; a notch above mediocre.
