Seemynameinlights, why not apply for a few other programs too - ones that do have scholarships available? Just to cover all the bases and have a back-up plan. Maybe try some of the summer acting camps.

I hope you're able to raise the money for NYU. Please keep us posted. I want to see your name in lights!

Well, it's in NYC at a good reputation private institution, and I believe you get credit for it towards college. What do you expect?

I don't think it makes NYU "assholes" for expecting you to work out paying for this elective summer program on your own. If you can't afford $9,000 now, how are you going to afford nearly $50,000 a year to attend college there?
