"Mame" and "Cabaret" were the first two that I remember, bought by my dad for my mother at Christmas when I was seven. She didn't like them so I appropriated them. Later, the first one I bought was "Dear World."

That little Patti rap song is my idea of a thing of beauty and a joy forever! I love it. Here's an idea: Queen Latifah as "Mame" with Patti LuPone as "Vera!" How's that?

Running into Broadway stars on the streets of NYC

One night at the stage door of Gypsy/Encores I saw Marc Shaiman, Nikki Blonsky and Tyne Daly, all there to see the show. It's not exactly on the streets of New York, it's at a stage door, but even so, seeing all of them was a very pleasant surprise.

I'd love to see QUEEN LATIFAH play "Mame." That would certainly amp up the Mother Burnside scene. Or Catherine Zeta-Jones as "Mame."
