Broadway and both productions have excellent casts IMO and I have seen all 3 of them.

I'm surprised it took an entire day for someone to ignore the OP's request and be a snarky bitch for no reason. Perhaps this is progress?

I saw the current cast on 10/18. I thought they were terrific! I've seen the show two other times - once with Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty (both great) and once on a recent national tour in Salt Lake City (Donna Vivino, and I can't remember the Glinda... both also great, but Capitol Theater is so crappy, the overall experience wasn't as memorable).

I've found (through experience, and talking to others) that Broadway takes its Wicked cast quite seriously. I was incredibly impressed with the current cast, and thought the show felt as fresh as when I saw it several years ago. Jackie Burns was perhaps the best acting Elphaba I've seen... and her "No Good Deed" was mind-blowing... perhaps even more powerful than Defying Gravity. I disagree with some of the comments of Chandra Schwartz. I thought she was a little more low-key than other Glinda's I've seen - which was refreshing (although she was still hilarious - and had a beautiful voice). Tom McGowan was hands down the best Wizard I've seen, and Richard Blake was the strongest Fiyero as well. It was a great cast!

"But if you by some chance get the standby for Jackie, Donna Vivino, you will also be in for a huge treat. She played the role full time on tour for 2 years and is brilliant."

Cool little tidbit: Donna Vivino was also the original Young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Miz.

Burns is one of the best Elphaba's the show has found. Schwartz on the other hand should've never been given the bump to Broadway.

The show was really a "show" back when it opened. It was solid. Now, it's something of a machine. It's more of a theme park show. The actresses are fine. They sing well and act as best they can. The show is getting old though. It was really it's best between 2003 and 2007. Donna is pretty fantastic though. Kate is pretty great as Glinda too. I'd say the standbys are better than the principals.
