I know it's a long shot but I'm interested to know if anyone might know the history of this sign. It is from the 70's. I can't imagine what it was used for. I doubt it was mass produced. It may have been custom made.

Two things come to my mind:
Maybe an opening night gift for the creative team or investors?
Possibly to hang in a window of a local diner as an advertisement or to hang in the bar of the Shubert?
I would imagine it was commissioned by someone directly involved with the production, since the title art is too identical to be "fan-made." It's likely advertising or promotional...maybe this hung in a storefront window at a record album store?
You should take a picture of it lit and post it. I bet it looks great.
I saw that sign listed a couple of days ago and thought of bidding on it myself. Congrats for acquiring it morosco. It looks cool.
That's very cool. Are you comfortable posting what you paid for it? Just curious.

Probably paid too much at $175.00 but to me it's priceless and will look great next to the finale costume I won years and years ago.

Very cool.
Now if only I could score an official Woody Shelp finale top hat, the Holy Grail of Chorus Line collectors.
Yeah I think it's very cool too, and you didn't pay too much if it is something that you love. Congrats!
Wow I've always wondered how they got into that finale costume so fast. Now I know. It's a complete one piece! They just slipped the whole thing on!
The gold costumes bring back memories of that 30 second quick change!!
it does look great lit up!

But that's the going rate for a Broadway musical these days, so it's not like some far out extravagance.
