My daughter and I are coming East in January for 4 days. We already have tickets for Hamilton, Spring Awakening and School of Rock. We have already seen Something Rotten, Curious Incident, Fun Home (loved it! Have seen it 3 times!), Hand to God, Gentleman's Guide, and An American in Paris. We saw Beautiful in SF before it hit Broadway. We have room in our schedule for 1 more show. Does anyone have a suggestion for us? Allegiance? Misery? King Charles III? On Your Feet? Should we be thrilled with what we've got planned and leave it at three shows? Any help appreciated so much.

King Charles is pretty amazing. (But how old is your daughter?)

Sorry- I should have clarified that my daughter is 18.

Another vote for King Charles III. Really excellent show. The Color Purple is also being very well-received. I saw it this weekend and didn't love it, but I'm in the minority there.

Since you've got three musicals booked, I'm inclined to go with a play unless you only want musicals. I'll echo King Charles III as it is a very well-acted production. Laurie Metcalf is the only reason to see Misery ... and for many of us she was reason enough, but it is a slight production.
On Your Feet is what I would call a cotton candy musical ... sweet and tasty in the moment, but it dissolves instantly and I doubt I will ever think about it again.
I found The Color Purple to be a very strong production of a show that I believe still has a somewhat flawed book. The singing is uniformly superb and worth going for that alone.
The King and I is the other big show I don't see listed. TheatreMania and Goldstar have had discounts for it.

On Your Feet! is great. So much fun. I also adored King Charles III.

King Charles III was wonderful and would be a nice balance to the musicals you've selected.

Everyone keeps recommending King Charles III, and every time I read about this play, I can't drum up any interest... not sure what my disconnect is there.

Different strokes, hater, but I do think you'd love it.

I've heard Dames at Sea is awesome. But sadly the show closes in January.

We'll see. If I move out of NYC soon, it will probably not happen... if I stay? Who can tell... heh.
