I caught the opening night of Idina Menzel's tour last night in Jacksonville. She performed with the Jacksonville Symphony. She looked and sounded great. She did three songs from Wicked, one song from Rent, Gorgeous, Embraceable You, she opened with a song from The Wild Party, a song she wrote about her son, some songs in between, then closed with Tomorrow from Annie. If you like her personality, she talked almost as much as she sang. Sometimes it was cute...then at times you wanted to yell "Next". They were selling merchandise at the show. T shirts (price unknown), I Stand (?) cd, and the best bargain was the new EP for $5. Sorry that this isn't as specific as some of you may like, but hey its a start. Art

I was also there. I personally loved her banter between the songs. She just seems so down to earth. Even the orchestra seemed to get a kick out of her. She doesn't take herself seriously.
I liked the full sound of the symphony behind her. It made some of the sounds I didn't really care for sound amazing. This was a great idea for her. I also noticed some random GLEE fans in the audience. Just as I thought the Wicked and Rent fans were bad enough, she goes adds an entire new slew of obnoxious followers to her list. lol.
Shallow moment -- She looked amazing. Motherhood has done her well.
She's here in September. I hope to see her.

How can you tell? Were they wearing stamps on their heads? She was in ONE episode. I doubt that people who had only seen her in that, but didn't previously know her from at least the recordings of Rent and Wicked would have bothered to go see her live.

You are probably right. I was just commenting on the table I was sitting next to and that was the topic of their conversation practically until she hit the stage.
