I fifth, sixth, seveth, eighth, ninth and tenth Al as Evita!
Take THAT Idina Menzel! :P
"You! You are the worst thing to happen to musical theatre since Andrew Lloyd Webber! And you, well, I just plain don't like you."
~Stewart Gilligan Griffin
As much as I find a lot of Andrew Lloyd Webbers work to be less than ideal, I actually think Evita is his best score. It has some very clever moments and can be quite touching. I would like to see an intimate version or a minimalist version of this show and see how it would fare.
That being said I think that it would be wonderful to see a new face headline the show but I think name recognition of the leading lady is relatively important in this particular show.
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"
