I think Idina would work and Sherie is a GREAT idea! But ultimately I'm still waiting for Ruthie Henshall/Linzi Hateley/Sally Ann Triplett as the Witch OR the Baker's Wife whichever they're playing XDD

I'm not an Idina-worshiper but could see her in the role. She's definitely got the sexiness and star-power to do it. It'd also be wonderful to see her old and cackling side, stretching her skills. I'd only wonder how well her mouth would form around the diction in "the rap".
I'm going to surprise even myself by saying, yes I think she could do 3/4 of the show convincingly.
I think she'd probably be great in the first act and for about 1/2 of the second. I don't think she'd be convincing from about Boom Crunch to the end of the show, however, and I think her "Children Will Listen" would be totally lost.
Well I don't submit the speculative casting without acknowledging that whoever directed the film would play a big role in the success of her performance.
"Vocally she'd be great, but I don't know if she could pull it off acting-wise."
Interesting, I was actually thinking the exact opposite... Girl's got some acting skills, she's just been cast in some roles that don't show her potential. Watch "Ask the Dust" she's the best actor in that movie.
