Idina Menzel: Does she care?

Unless Mrs. Mezel or a rep of her's posts on this site, I can't see how anyone could give you any help.

The woman probably does get a ton of fanmail though. Sometimes they forget. Maybe she misplaced the letter you handed to her in person. Despite all the buzz on Idina being rude, I doubt she would purposely not respond because she "hates" you (she doesn't even know you).

I'm sorry to say that I don't think she cares. I hope I'm wrong but I went backstage July 4th to meet Kristin. It was prearranged and it was wonderful. Idina was there and was not much in the warmth or smiles department. I'm sure she was tired from the show or there may even be other reasons of which I am not aware, but I will forever carry that impression of her with me.

okay i'm not obssesed with Idina just to make that clear. I like her probably just as much as u do Marquise, maybe a little bit more, so no OCD is involved there. And if Idina knew me, I wouldnt be writing letters to her in the first place lol ( i know it's nothing personal) Im just curious.

Wow all I hear about is Idina. I'm not even a wicked fan. Just have the cd but wow people must really like her. Reading these posts she seems very rude. But good luck with you're letter.

If you're going to assume that the fact that she has not responded to every letter she has received at the theatre from every fan means that she does "not care" about her fans...I don't know what to tell you.
I've never written to her, but friends of mine who have have gotten responses...many times quite a few months later. But why would you write to an actress just to get a response anyway?

Idina is a sweetie. She jammed a sharpie into my eye at the stage door, and poured hot coffee on me when I complimented her on her performance. We laugh about it now. please - let's move on.

I agree with what BroadwayGirl107 said- it seems a little pointless to write to an actress JUST to get a response. I know that I write to people whose performances I enjoyed just to tell them. And if they write back, then great. If not, then I just assume that they read my letter and that's all that needed to happen...

O.K. everyone- if we stop now, this thread won't end up being over five pages long and will not take up any more space on page one of this message board with the other Idina posts. I wouldn't dare to take aways anyone's freedom of speech, but I would, however, refer you to another already existing thread. The existance of this one is pointless.

I agree with Broadwaygal. Write to your favorite because you want to compliment them or mention that you're a fan. Don't do it simply to get a response. I would also like to say that Broadway actors are very busy people. It would have been very easy for her to misplace the letter or just not have time to respond. It is also quite possible that she got the letter and thought, "Wow, how nice." To be quite honest, I'm slightly shocked that someone would start a thread such as this, but I won't be rude. In short, I don't think that you should write to Idina (or anyone for that matter) to get something out of it.

Three important words to always remember: "Tony Award Winner." Think of the abandonment issues the folks at Weekend Today felt when Idina bailed (leaving room for Caroline or Change to perform the weekend after the Tonys).

In "Making it on Broadway" there is a little paragrah from Idina. She sort of talks about why she acts the way she does at the stage door.

ponine: You make the most sense on this board lol.
Im sure she will write back to you. Just give her some more time. It's not easy being green lol. I hate to tell you though, she probably has thousands of letters to answer. She has to be a performer 8 times a week and also be married and take care of a home lol. She is probably the most popular actress on Broadway today so its gotta be hard.

Just wondering: did you send a SASE with your letter? Or did you ask her to respond? It's harder if she has to provide the envelope and ship it herself, especially considering the number of requests I can imagine she gets.

i agree with the majority vote of writing a letter to your favorite to say of how wonderful they are, not about getting a response. But, dont give up, they usually take a few months.
I mean just by the amount of fanmail Wicked receives on a daily basis, Idina must be swarmed with mail.
So dont worry she will respond.

Good grief. This country is on the verge of voting George Bush into office for the next four years, the rest of the world hates us, and there is a hole in the ozone layer big enough for Pluto to drop through, and your biggest worry is Idina not writing back?
