re: Idina in LA run???

no one thought phantom would make it this far...the only that saved it was the movie...agreed?

re: Idina in LA run???

From what I understand, if you want to see Idina & Kristin together onstage again, you're going to have to buy a plane ticket overseas next year.

You know, I've never been to England (assuming you're talking about Wicked opening on the West End).

re: Idina in LA run???

Even if the probability of her reprising her role in the LA run is slim, I have to say that I hope the rumors aren't true. Don't get me wrong, I loved Idina in Wicked but I've heard her countless times on the CR and I am really looking foward to seeing Stephanie's take on the role (or even Jenna if Stephanie were absent for whatever reason.) I really can't wait to see Stephanie and Kendra live in July! re: Idina in LA run???

re: Idina in LA run???

Personally, i think after doing it for a couple of years, one would want to take a break from the role. I would love to see Idina in it, again, because I thought her acting was amazing. But I don't expect it in any near future.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

re: Idina in LA run???

Okay, guys, seriously, if there was a chance Idina was coming back, Stephanie would know about it. Producers can't just yank a star out of a role because they want to use someone else, Tony or no Tony. That's why we have a union and contracts.

If Idina was going to appear, Stephanie would have a clause in her contract stating that. Period. If she says it's false, it's false. If the producers chose to, and there was no clause, they could ask to buy Stephanie out for the night or the week, but she wouldn't have to say yes.

Go listen to the cast album and dream about Idina's return in 2015. Or just go see Stephanie, who I'm sure is terrific.

re: Idina in LA run???

I guess we will just have to see. I read a post here a few months back that one of them (Idina and Kristin) was already signed to do it in LA. I personally don't see it happening but I thought WICKED would win best musical last year. (Like most everyone else!) Also...I do not agree that the movie version of Phantom saved the Broadway production. I hope that was a sarcastic comment! Just my 2 cents!
