Al...How long ago was it that you saw the show? I understand that you stand firm on your opinion, but I do hope that you give her another chance when she takes on another role. I saw her do Elpheba and she is breathtaking in all aspects. Taking on Liza as a newbie is a huge task especially when the show isn't about Liza. I hear that her most recent performances are blowing people away.

OK... she is not Liza... she is not CLOSE to Liza. She is not in the same ball park as Liza. The actress playing Judy worked SOOO hard to get the voice and manerisms down flawlessly. Stephanie did herself on stage. When Liza comes home from Studio 54 at 3am to catch her husband with another guy and she's SOBER - THAT AIN"T LIZA!!!!

Maybe it's LiSa, her twin sister. In any event, Stephanie is phenomenal.

Atleast she admits she cannot do Liza! She told the producers not to expect anything special. Their response: they are not looking for that. This is not Liza's story.

Yes and the producers have to close the show when Hugh takes a vacation... what does that tell you. In any show EVERY actor has to give a credible performance of the character they're playing. It is certainly harder when we all know that person, but that doesn't change the job description. Even the producers feel the show is nothing with Hugh and they don't even think its worth being open when hes away. You know they're praying he doesn't get sick.

I totally agree, but it is not the performances others are giving, it is that people would cry to ticket sales that they want their money back because Hugh is not gonna perform.

MCM..The way you present your comments you make it sound that Stephanie is the reason that the show can't hold it's own without Hugh. That's a rather large statement. When was it that YOU saw the show?

I don't think you've heard Stephanie belt if you think her belting is "common". This chick belts F's without a second thought! And, as soon as she starts the sound, vibrato comes in full fledged. Literally NO ONE I have EVER heard belt does that. Her belting is amazing. YOu're just silly if you think she is common.

Also, the chick can sing opera with the best of em...and she's got a HUGE opera sound. No belter does that, either.

Common...please. Don't be silly.
