The news article on Playbill.com confirms that Idina's last show has been moved to 1/9/05. I guess there will be some very unhappy people. Since up until yesterday the wicked website in the FAQ listed her last day as 1/2/05.

or perhaps shee wanted to announce a date so all the crazies would buy a ticket to that date and make planes to fly to the city to see the show, then she changed the date to avoid all the madness on her last day.

as far as stephanie block is concerned, THIS comes right off her website (http://www.sacnews.net/sjblock/index.html):
"Hi all..."TBFO" closed on Sept.12. The cast/crew will, of course, miss the show but we are all at peace with exiting as a hit...sold out houses, screaming, loving audiences and our Hugh as the one and only Peter (besides Peter Allen himself). It's been a beautiful year and I couldn't ask for more... I will take a long awaited vacation. Hooray!!! And then head out to Los Angeles for a few months. There are a few projects I'm working on that are at the beginning creative stage. I love being involved on the ground floor. I won't be gone for too long. I hope NYC will welcome me back at the first of the year...leaving Southern CA's perfect weather for a New York winter...am I crazy?! so its nothing concrete, but it definitely supports speculation. plus SJB originated the role way back when, before they gave it to idina bc she had more experience onstage.

Interesting news from actorsequity.com:
They're holding opening audtions for the WICKED tour. It says rehearsals start January 24 in NYC, then move to Toronto, where it opens on March 8.
Does this mean Idina's schedule may accomodate this? (I'm only asking because if she's really going to be opening the tour, I'll fly to Toronto if I have to!)

I pray every single night that Stephanie Block comes in to do this role. JLT and SJB, would be as near to heaven as I could possibly get....oh please, oh please!
I wonder who will replace Joey Mac? I dont think he is right for the part AT ALL and it way to small a part for him no that has made a name for himself, but Hunter Foster would be out of the producers by then.

I really hope/want stephine to do the tour instead of the broadway production!!!!!!!! Only because of my selfish reasons to see her on tour in chicago.

I'd love for Shoshana to get the part just cause she's awsome, as is Stephanie, but either way would be awsome.
As for her leaviing a week later, my friend's dad bought 12 tickets so he could sell them for her last night and make a lot of money--sucks.
