I had no doubts whatsoever about her winning. And her acceptance speech was endearing and heart felt.

But what about that gasping? It was like the swinging of a rusty gate.
"And nobody eeeeeek in all of Oz eeeeek no Wizard that there is or was eeeeeeek is ever gonna bring eeeeeeeeek meeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeek dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnn"
[Kristen: (thinking) Oops! I forgot my line! I'll just smile!! I was off yesterday!")
"Meeeeeeeeeeee dowwwwwwwnnnnnn"
Chorus: Look at her, she's wicked.
"eeeeeeeeeek Awwwaahhahahhahhhhhahhhhhhhhhaaaahhhhhhhhh!"
[Silent movie star eye bulge]
Not the best rendition of the best song in a mediocre show by any means.
Great speech, glad she won, dooms the show when she leaves tho.

You saw all five performances of the other nominees DiRtGLJBGerrrentHGEtdffkawrt dash dash 420?
Well if you were paying attention you would have noticed that 2 of the actresses were from the same show (Wicked) and no i didnt see all but did see Wicked and COC and thought that Idian was the best! How about you?
I would had been very happy if Tonya won. But Idinas speech was gracious and moving. She won and why not? :)

No I did not see all five performers... I did see three of them. But because I did not see the other two, I would never say that the actress I was rooting for "deserved" the Tony over anybody else. I would just say that I was rooting for her because I saw her performance and enjoyed it. You might want to think about your word choices too.
That was what I was getting at.
Also, Wicked isn't one of the best musicals. Ask Joe Mantello.
I did see all five actresses. Tonya, in my opinion didn't really make the dinstinction from good to great until the end of act 2. Idina reached that potential early in the show, as did kristin for that matter. Stepahnie D'abruzzo was phenomenal. Donna Murphy was really good. All five were great, but it was definately idina's year.
I feel as though it is one of the best musicals of the year and if i didnt state that i should have and that is what i ment. and if you want to be real anal about it i felt that way and that is my oppnion. And you dont have a poblem speaking yours so why should i?
also, WICKED isn't one of the best musicals. It's damn fun. I mean my message board name is WICKEDFAN and I'm agreeing that WICKEd isn;t the greatest show created. I loved it, but didn't think it was amazing. GREAT performance by Idina. again, why it was her year.
and no one is being anal. everyone is stating their opinions. why is it when people state their opinions the other person claims it's just being mean?
Namo, you didn't see all the nominees? I'm surprised. I don't live anywhere near NY but I'm proud to have seen all the nominees. Last week Tonya gave the performance of a lifetime, but I'm so happy Idina got it.

My POINT is you are not qualified to say somebody "deserved" an award over somebody else unless you've seen all the nominees.
So true Namo, however, Idina did use that word. But the only reason i can say "deserve" is because i saw all five. I'm very happy :)
im not even ganna get into it it is to late ..........
ok Namo. So DiRrTy_ReNtHEADasdfpoae (as you put it :) ) should correct his speech. I agree that is WRONG to say somebody deserved an award when you didn't bother to check out the other nominees.

I haven't ever seen a single Broadway show, so all I have is my reaction to Idina's performance tonight. It brought me to tears, and I don't mean just a little welling up. She touched me, deeply.
(To be fair, I must disclose that I react to tears with tears on a regular basis.)
well if u read what i wrote earlier you would know that all though i didnt see all of the shows i did see COC and Wicked and out of 3 people that were nominated (Idina,Kristen, and Tonya) I felt as though Idina should have got it and that is more then 1/2 of the people nominated thats what i felt so thats what i SAID!!!!

You should have seen her performance of the same exact song on The David Letterman Show last Fall. It was a million times better and reduced me to tears. (I cry easy too)
David Letterman performance was amazing! although the Tony awards wasn't her best, she was still great, breathing or not. She is great, end of story.

Well, I hope for her sake it's not the end of the story. But the way rabid fans nail performers to the wall with their expectations, I wouldn't be at all surprised (cf Sutton Foster).

Namo, I missed her Letterman performance, but you can be sure I'll be on the lookout for any upcoming (television) performances she might do.
