Im gonna correct my comment to be nice and because it is true I should say nice things only. She was brilliant as Betty Schaffer in Sunset Blvd. She would be good as Laura in The Woman in White.

Posted: 2/24/06 at 12:00amI adore Alice Ripley and I would love to see her in a Broadway show. As far as a particular part, I can't think of any. I was a moron and missed her performance in The Bakers Wife at Papermill. I'm not familiar with the book, but I would love to see that on Broadway.

Posted: 2/24/06 at 11:40amoh and if they ever make a musical version of "Valley of the Dolls", Alice should play Neely O'Hara with Bernadette or Patti as Helen Lawson.

Alice already did TOMMY... I believe she was an understudy for Mrs. Walker & then got bumped up later. I did see it with her understudying for sure and it was nothing short of phenomenal!
Personally, I'd love to see Alice do EVITA. She'd be great.

Witches of Eastwick - Alex (w Emily as Jane and Sutton as Sukie)
-----
You know Emily played Alex in a reading of that? I think Alice would make a better Jane. And Jennifer Laura Thompson would be better as Sukie. But please, lets never cast Alice and Emily in a show together again.
Alice has played Mrs. Walker twice, btw. She played the role again last summer in Pittsburg.

Posted: 2/24/06 at 12:33pmwell...i didn't enjoy Alice as Audrey in Little Shop, but probably i was just comparing her to Ellen Greene all the time, Alice was doing Audrey pretty much her own. And she was good. But there were little things i am just accustumed to the movie's Audrey. Anyhow, they didn't give her a chance to do the show on Broadway. They fired everyone but Hunter Foster i think.
