Get Sarah Jessica Parker to replace Christina in "Sweet Charity" and bring Matthew Broderick in to replace Denis O'Hair as Oscar once he wraps up "The Odd Couple."

Also, keep Brenda Braxton as Velma FOREVER.

I never thought of it, but Sarah Jessica Parker might make a very good Charity Hope Valentine. That kind of casting might be too reasonable for Fran and Barry.

There are threads talking about SJP as Charity... I'm all for it, and bring it up with friends every time a bus rolls by with the show advertised on it... SJP as Charity = kinda amazing...

Actually, I would go see "Sweet Charity" with SJP, I'll bet she would be great! I just don't get CA (I'm sorry, but she has no technique to her so called "dancing") or the "original" choice for that matter, was it not Jenna Elfman, and what are her great credits besides that sitcom? (I wont even mention Mrs. Federline!!) I wish SJP would come back to a Musical Broadway Show, She's so talented and easy to love. By the way, Can Kim Catrall sing??? I noted her hanging around the "Woman in White" lobby last week, hmm....??? (She is also born in the UK right?) Oh well, Michael Ball is a good reason for ANYTHING! (Maybe they will offer him "Billy Flynn" here after he's done with Count Fosco - It appears "Chicago" will never die, LOL!)

Was Chicago their first hit? Or was it Grease? I have a feeling Chicago is the cash cow that keeps them able to produce smaller shows and take more chances.

Has anyone else ever met them? The are probably two of the funnies people ive ever met. Barry is always telling jokes with a cigar (not lit, which is THAT much better) hanging out of his mouth, and Fran is pretty much that crazy, young grandmother your frinds all love. Actually, they have a (beautiful) young-twenty-something granddaughter in the city, dont they?

Either way, they're the ones laughing all the way to the bank.

If I were a Weissler I'd cast Stephen Segal and Courtney Love in South Pacific.
Or to be more realistic, I'd close Sweet Charity before Britany Spears gets her dirty paws on it.

They actually offered "Sweet Charity" to SJP. Someone that took a backstage tour with the stage manager was told that they offered it to her but she didn't want to return to the stage right now. They had also offered it to Brittany Murphy, but she had too many movie commitments already to be able to do it (plus money would have been a factor.) Also, it looks like Molly Ringwald is going to do the tour.
