Yeah. The word per the cast last week was that on Wednesday they found out they're not transferring this season. TPTB want to rework a couple of things, do an out of town thing, and maybe bring it back in NEXT season.

Simply put...Next To Normal is a MUST SEE! For those of you who can have the chance to see it you will enjoy!WOW what an emotional rollercoaster ride. It felt like I was back in the audience for the electrifying “Tommy”. This was a wonderful Off-Broadway production. This show had great performances and truly touching. A stand out performance by 16 year old Jennifer Damiano that was in the original cast I saw of Spring Awakening as the youngest performer in that cast. It also starred Brian d'Arcy James (“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”), who did a great performance! This ranks as one of my favorite off-Broadway experiences.

re: If Next to Normal Transfers...

Do you guys know if they already have the list of songs in the Playbill from last night?

So most likely ..if this needs working and an out of town try-out..probbably there wont be any recording for 2ST's N2N? I wish they do an out of town try-out here in Boston!

re: If Next to Normal Transfers...

Jaystarr ~ I really doubt they're going to have a song list before the off-Broadway run closes. It's only 2 more weeks. Just chill and enjoy it. It's FINE without a song list (which would take up 2-3 pages in a playbill anyway). :) The two cities I heard were possibilities were Chicago or LA. As far as a recording, weren't changes made with Grey Gardens ~ it had 2 cast recordings. I wouldn't say reworking necessarily negates a recording...but I haven't heard anything.

me2 ~ Yes, it was reviewed. Overall they were pretty good...especially for the actors and particularly for Alice and Brian. They're pretty much posted on here somewhere. (I'm on a quick prep so I can't search right now.)

re: If Next to Normal Transfers...

I'm sure if N2N ever was going to come to Broadway, Alice would come back and do the show if she wasn't already working on something else. TK is good friends with her husband, so I think even if she was busy they would wait for her.

She's also been with it off and on for a while. And considering they moved back form LA for her to do it off-Broadway, I seriously doubt she'd NOT do a Broadway transfer if it happens. Unless as you say she gets involved with something else in the meantime and they don't decide to wait. Given that she by and large got the strongest reviews I'd be surprised if they didn't elect to wait if necessary.

I gotta say, I think Mary-Mitchell Campbell should have gotten the Tony for her orchestrations of COMPANY, and her work on this show is equally amazing.

re: If Next to Normal Transfers...

Maybe this belongs on the off topic board not sure. I have a ticket for Next to Normal 3/2 at 3:00 which I will not be able to use. It's at the box office and they told me that someone else could use it, just ask for it in my name. Small theater, less security I guess :) It's seat D114 and I hate for it to go to waste so if anyone wants it contact me and I'll give you my name. This is real, not a con job and I'm not asking for an y money, just want someone to enjoy the show since I can't. :) Dave

Dude! If I wasn't scoring datafolios tomorrow (support the theatre habit with a pick-up job that pays over $30 an hour) I would be ALL OVER that!
