I think it would do fairly well, though it's really an American/Italian story, but they can change that easily. I think it would do well at the Domnar Warehouse, or maybe the National, preferebly the National. Opinions?

CATSNYrevival: Well, you know those Brits that are really picky. All they would really need to change is Margaret and Clara's nationality from American to British. That's all. In the film they were British, right? (I never saw it, I just read a synopsis from imdb.) And no, I am not high.

i think it would do good in London. They should hire either Kelli O'Hara or Jennifer Hope Wills to play Clara.

O. K, forget the changes idea. Just how would it do, as it is already?

I'm fairly certain the characters in the movie were from North Carolina, as were the characters from the original novel. I don't see why it would need to be changed. After all, I imagine British people would be less likely to notice the discrepancies in the actors' Southern accents.

I can't imagine this musical not doing well anywhere it chose to play; it's so beautiful and I believe pretty universal. I think any mature theater-goer would appreciate it.
