I think Fosse definitely deserves SOME theatre named after him. Same for Harold Prince (though maybe not right now).

If you had any sense, Roxy, you'd know I was only referring to theatres whose names were dedicated to people already.

While Im not a huge fan of naming theaters after critics I agree with FOA in saying that it should reopen as the Hellinger.

Doesn't anyone find it creepy that we're asking, "Gee, if someone decides to kick the Church out of a building they're using to gather people and strengthen the word amongst themselves and others, a place they use to better their lives... what should we call it?"

Tennessee Williams should get a theatre named after him...
Michael Bennett, Bob Fosse, and Harold Prince are all good ideas as well. I'll add Leonard Bernstein to the mix.

I'd opt to name it for Alan Jay Lerner, who had My Fair Lady, On a Clear Day, Coco and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in that theatre.

Since there are so many people deserving of namesakes for their contribution to the arts, why not forego the notion altogether? The remaining ones should just stay the way they are instead of a game of who should get one before who.
