it seems much more likely that shows would be nominated for Tony awards than movies nominated for Oscars though. There wouldn't be very much to choose from if only non-nominated shows were eligible for 'stage-razzies'.

Posted: 5/12/10 at 5:45pmYes I finally saw the production ljay and I have to say as much as I love Cheno, she just is so miscast in PROMISES, I was also quite put off by Katie Finneran as well, she was waaaay over the top...almost over bearingly so and Sean Hayes, well...well...that's a whole other thread.

Interesting! At least 3 professional critics agree with you on Finneran. Her reviews were not unanimous raves. Though the most important review was a love letter to her.
She didn't do much for me, but I only saw the 1st preview.

Yeah, Finneran defintely over did it. I'm a fan of less is more. In that I mean that you can let the joke come across naturally with a much more subdued approach. Finneran just clobbered you over the head with the material. It was overkill. Christine Baranski's take on the character was so much better and a perfect example of a more subdued approach is Marian Mercer's performance (although I only have audio to judge her performance by) her interpretation isn't the shrieking harpie Finneran makes her out to be.
